Atlanta police report that a shooting occurred on Saturday night at Atlantic Station, leaving one person dead and five others hurt.

Police stated late Saturday that the shooting occurred after some individuals were led away from the site by Atlantic Station security and off-duty Atlanta policemen. After that, the gang moved to the 17th Street bridge, where several shots were fired just after 8 o’clock.

At a press conference held late on Saturday, Lt. Germaine Dearlove, the homicide commander for the Atlanta police, stated, “At this time, we have one individual on scene deceased and numerous others were brought to surrounding hospitals.”

According to investigators, those implicated were between the ages of 15 and 21, Dearlove. Late on Saturday, the probe was still in its early stages. However, Dearlove said that two distinct groups may have fired gunfire.

According to Dearlove, investigators suspect the group may have been asked to leave the Atlantic Station grounds due to disorderly conduct and curfew violations. For Atlantic Station, a curfew of 3 p.m. was implemented in January, requiring all children to be accompanied by an adult while in the neighborhood after that time.

A representative for Atlantic Station issued the following statement via email: “APD and EMS immediately responded to an incident among a group that resulted in bullets being fired with suspected injuries.” “Atlantic Station Security has stated there is no current threat to the property and is collaborating with APD on this topic. Our primary focus is still the community’s safety, and we are collaborating fully with law authorities during this ongoing inquiry.

It was the most recent shooting in a string that had occurred in the posh neighborhood. The incident on Saturday night happened over a jam-packed weekend of holiday shopping. A Cirque Du Soleil performance and ice skating rink are now located at Atlantic Station.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported that a 30-year-old lady was shot three times inside her SUV on October 18 but begged to remain anonymous out of concern for her safety. The woman claims that just before midnight, individuals in two other cars engaged in gunfire, and she was struck in the crossfire. The location, at the intersection of 17th and State Streets, yielded numerous shot casings for the investigators to examine.

She explained, “I was just in the center. I’m simply fortunate that I only took three blows. Police say that ten days before the 30-year-old lady was shot in her SUV at Atlantic Station, another woman was shot nearby.

According to an incident report, that woman informed detectives on October 8 that she had just left the Bowlero bowling alley when she heard gunshots. She told police that she fled the Hobknob Tavern on 18th Street. She discovered she had been shot in the foot once she was inside the restaurant.

Following the two incidents in October, Atlantic Station officials declared they were collaborating with the police to enhance security on the property. These efforts included giving 911 calls priority, tripling the number of officers on duty, and scheduling frequent meetings with department heads.
