Dead To Me star Christina Applegate has made her first major public appearance since she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis last year.
The Emmy-winning actress appeared on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to accept her honourary star on the famed Hollywood pathway.
Applegate, 50, grew emotional during the ceremony, devoting her speech to her daughter.
“The most important person in this world is my daughter. You are so much more than even you know,” she said. “I’m blessed every day that I get to wake up and take you to school…thank you for standing by me through all of this.”

Applegate is married to Porno for Pyros bassist Martyn LeNoble, and the pair share their 11-year-old daughter, Sadie.
The actress was later joined by her Married…with Children co-stars Katey Sagal, Amanda Bearse and David Faustino to receive the honour, and sat on a chair whilst also holding a cane to pose for photos.
Prior to the ceremony, which she was supposed to celebrate in 2020, until the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world, Applegate prepared fans that she would be looking a little different at her next “important” appearance.

“I have a very important ceremony coming up,” Applegate tweeted, sharing a photo of a collection of swanky new canes she’d bought. “This will be my first time out since [being] diagnosed with MS. Walking sticks are now part of my new normal.
“Thank you @neowalksticks for these beauties. Stay tuned to see which ones make the cut for a week of stuff.”

Just recently, Applegate opened up about her diagnosis with Varietyadmitting that she is still angry that she has MS.
“I’m never going to accept this. I’m pissed,” she told the publication.
In the interview, which came in anticipation of the release of the next season of Netflix’s Dead To Me(to air on November 17), Applegate also chose to tell her fans that she filmed the entire season while still adjusting and dealing with debilitating MS symptoms.
“This is the first time anyone’s going to see me the way I am,” she said. “I put on 40 pounds (approx. 18kg); I can’t walk without a cane. I want people to know that I am very aware of all of that.”
