Kaleidoscope, the latest crime drama on Netflix, has generated a lot of buzz for its unusual concept. The eight-episode show can be watched in different orders by different people, providing a unique experience to each viewer.

Kaleidoscope follows a veteran conman who builds a team of thieves to attempt a heist worth $7 billion from the USA’s most secured vault. A number of different locations were featured in the show due to its premise. But where was Kaleidoscope filmed? Read on to find out.

Kaleidoscope Filming Locations

The series was mainly shot in the state of New York. The filming commenced in September 2021, but was suspended for some time in January 2022 due to rising cases of Covid-19. It resumed a few days later and wrapped up in March 2022. Now, without much ado, let’s have a look at all the locations where Kaleidoscope was shot.

New York City, New York

The major portion of the series was shot in New York City, especially in Manhattan and Brooklyn. The production team set up their camps in the two boroughs. The Bushwick Studio, owned by Netflix, also served as a filming location.

The studio is situated at 33 Johnson Avenue in Bushwick and comprises six sound stages, meeting rooms, a mill, and production offices. The cast and crew of the show were also spotted filming on a number of streets in Brooklyn, including Nostrand Avenue, Van Dyke Street, Fulton Street, Dwight Street, 3rd Avenue, and 53rd Street.

The team also filmed some key scenes at Great Jones Street & Lafayette Street. In November 2021, they were seen taping at Cedar Street, 28 Liberty in Manhattan’s financial district, and the Midtown East neighborhood.

NYC, the most populous city in the US, has been home to a number of series in the past. Shows like Only Murders in the Building, Law & Order, Sex and the City, White Collar, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Manifest, and Daredevil were filmed in the city.

New York also hosted the cast and crew of some big films, including Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, Spider-Man: No Way Home, To All the Boys: Always and Forever, Luckiest Girl Alive, Avengers: Endgame, Marriage Story, Spider-Man: Far From Home, John Wick 3 and Ghostbusters.

Suffolk County, New York

In January 2022, the cast and crew of Kaleidoscope traveled to Suffolk County, the easternmost county in New York state, to shoot some sequences. They set up their base in the Town of Huntington and shot around Dix Hills Diner at 1800 East Jericho Turnpike and Gold Coast Jewelry & Pawn at 1786 East Jericho Turnpike.

The Patchogue village and Corey Beach at 1 Corey Avenue in the Blue Point also served as filming locations for Kaleidoscope. Earlier series, including Gossip Girl, Orange is the New Black, Sex and the City, Elementary, Boardwalk Empire, and The Americanswere also shot in Suffolk County.
