New details into the shock death of Lisa Marie Presley aged 54 have emerged, with sources claiming that she suffered a second cardiac arrest before her death.

According to Page Sixthe only child of Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presleywho died on Friday after being rushed to the hospital following a suspected cardiac arrest at her California home, was pronounced brain dead on arrival. This reportedly prompted doctors to put her in a medically-induced coma.

At the time, it was reported Presley was on life support in critical conditionwhich is when her family reportedly signed a do-not-resuscitate (DNR) order in case she did suffer another cardiac arrest. According to TMZshe did.

On the morning of January 13 (AEST), news broke that Presley was rushed to the hospital after her housekeeper found her “unresponsive” in her bedroom.

Emergency services were called to her home in Calabasas, California, where her ex-husband Danny Keough was performing CPR.

Presley was reportedly able to regain a pulse before being rushed to the hospital, where she was put on life support with a temporary pacemaker. She was in critical condition in an induced coma in the ICU in the short time leading up to her death.

Her mother, Priscilla Presley, was at her daughter’s side at the time of her deathand Presley’s daughter Riley Keough also reportedly rushed to be by her mother’s side.

Hours after Presley was rushed to the hospital, her mother released a statement confirming she had died.

“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” Priscilla said in a statement to People. “She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known.”

“We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment,” Priscilla’s statement concluded.

Only 48 hours earlier, Presley had attended the 2023 Golden Globes with her 77-year-old mother, with both watching on as Austin Butler won Best Actor, Motion Picture Drama at the event for his role as the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll in Baz Luhrmann‘s Elvis.

Presley and Priscilla were seen getting emotional as Butler, 31, told them he would “love [them] forever” in his acceptance speech. Priscilla appeared to blink back tears as Presley put her hands over her face.

In the days since her sudden death, tributes have been pouring in for Presley, including from her ex-husband Nicolas Cage.

In a statement obtained by the Hollywood Reporterthe 59-year-old actor, who was married to Presley from 2002 to 2004, says Presley was someone who “lit up every room.”

“Lisa had the greatest laugh of anyone I ever met. She lit up every room, and I am heartbroken,” Cage’s statement read.

“I find some solace believing she is reunited with her son Benjamin,” he added, in reference to her son, Benjamin Keough, who died aged 27 in 2020.

Presley was only nine years old when her father, the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, died aged 42 after suffering a heart attack.

Elvis Presley’s mother, Gladys Presley, also died of a heart attack in 1958, aged 46.
