A. It’s the background

Education is a process of personality formation a man. General education aims to create well-behaved and informed people.

If we talk about education issues, it is also related to the problem of the environment education, known as the tricenter of education, i.e. the family area, the school area, and the community area. In these three situations, the family environment has a very important role. The family is the first institution in the education of children, because it is from the family that the foundation of children’s behavior, character and behavior is built.

Achieving educational goals cannot be separated from the participation and guidance or support of parents. Parents are great teachers and beginners, because the influence of parents is the basis for the development and life of children in the future. For this reason, full effort is required to achieve this goal.

Participation is necessary in nation building. Although it is not easy to build participation, the participatory movement is an expression of the desire to promote democracy in the devolution process. Separation is absolutely necessary in its formation Good Governance. What is meant by changing the role of the state is the need to redefine the role of society. In this context, Community participation is an important requirement for the success of educational development in the period of regional independence. In fact, many research results prove it parental involvement will have a positive impact on basic education outcomes.

B. Problem Formulation

ParticipationPublic access to education is still relatively low, although the importance of participation in improving education has been proven. This is shown in various studies that show that it is not easy to build parental participation in the education system. In fact, community participation is one of the key requirements for improving the quality of public education.

Based on this background, the problem to be studied is “How is the involvement of parents in overcoming children’s learning difficulties at home?”

C. Submission of hypothesis

To get high results in education, it is necessary there is cooperation between parents, students and teachers in different ways. For this type of cooperation to be of great value in promoting and improving the quality of school education in general and especially for students or in other words the internalization of the importance of education requires cooperation between schools, families and communities. Therefore, the higher the participation of parents / guardians of students, the level of education will increase, but on the contrary if there is little participation from parents, the level of education will be low.

Based on the above reasoning, a hypothesis can be made in this problem, that is “Parental participation in the student’s success.”

D. Data collection

Data collection was done by conducting a neighborhood survey in RT 02 RW 10 Pasarbatang, Brebes District, Brebes Regency. Data collection is done through direct interviews with children related to the child’s position in the classroom, his interests, and complete data of the child’s parents. These data are analyzed to consider the impact of parental involvement on student achievement.

The data obtained includes:
