Ronald DeSantis’ Family And Education

Ronald DeSantis completed his education at Yale University and Harvard Law School. Ronald was born to Karen and Ronald Daniel. He married Casey Black who is a former television host for the Golf Channel and the WJXT in 2009 and they together have three children. Ron has a height of 6 feet 1 inch.

Ronald DeSantis Professional Career

In 2004, during his second year at Harvard Law, DeSantis was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Navy and he was assigned to the Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAG). Later on, Ronald finished Naval Justice School in 2005. Later that year, he received orders from the JAG Trial Service Office Command South East at the Naval Station Mayport in Florida as a prosecutor.

DeSantis was born in Florida to a working-class family, is not accustomed to big money. A strong student and talented athlete, he went to college at Yale, where he captained the baseball team and after graduating, DeSantis joined the history department at a Georgia private school, before heading to law school at Harvard. He received his diploma in 2005 and went to work for the U.S. Navy and at 27 years old, DeSantis had two prestigious degrees, a pile of student loans and a modest government salary.

He was promoted from lieutenant junior grade to lieutenant in 2006. Ronald further worked for the commander of Joint Task Force-Guantanamo, working with the detainees at Guantanamo Bay Joint Detention Facility. During Ronald’s military career, DeSantis was awarded a Bronze Star Medal, the medal of Navy and Marine Corps Commendation, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Iraq Campaign Medal. As of 2022, Ronald is still serving at the U.S. Navy Reserve.

In 2015, DeSantis declared his candidacy for the United States Senate seat which was held by Marco Rubio, who initially did not file to run for reelection due to his bid for the U.S. presidency. He got endorsed by the fiscally conservative Club for Growth. When Rubio ended his presidential bid and went for reelection to the Senate, Ronald DeSantis withdrew from the Senate race and ran for reelection to the House.

On the 28th of August in, 2018, DeSantis achieved the Republican primary by defeating his main opponent Adam Putnam. His other opponent was Democratic nominee Andrew Gillum in the general election and the race was “widely seen as a toss-up.
